Reeves
James REEVES and Family. The family portrait was taken in Hastings between about 1894 and 1895. The group shows all the family together except for one daughter, Lucy. Lucy Jane appears in the records in 1861, 1871, & 1881, but she is not to be found after that date. From the photos it appears she went to Warsaw although we have no other information. The parents, James and Ellen, are clear. The young lady on the right is Julia Ellen who married Alfred SELDEN in May 1882. The young child is probably Edith Marjorie SELDEN who died in 1885. Alfred is the young man standing at the back. The teenage boy on the right is James Henry. The four other sisters have yet to be identified exactly. Note that Kate Matilda remained at home and was still at home in the 1901 census (aged 41 & single).
